Iron Man Mark XLIV
Iron Man Mark XLIV
The articulated 1/4 scale Hulkbuster is a joint effort between Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, designed for Iron Man’s
use should the Hulk’s incredible strength prove too great to control.
As featured in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Hulkbuster suit can be deployed from orbit, forming a protective shell around the Iron Man Mark XLIII.

The main mechanical movement of the 1/4 Hulkbuster features the remote controller operated opening of its chest armor to reveal an Iron Man Mark 43 inside. The overall outlook of the figure has since been enhanced as well from our last sharing via a short video clip.

On pressing “Reboot Button” on the remote controller, the first press will retract its forearm armor as seen in the progressive image above from a, b to c. On second press of the same button, forearm armor closes back to reform the initial armor as shown on image d.
As the 1/4 Hulkbuster is huge in size, the designers have considered some measures to ensure safety when the figure needs to move. With a press of its safety lock, its arm can swing frontal upwards.
Its arm can also swing sideways outward when you press the button at the indicated point above.
A press of the above button indicated allows the swivel of its lower arm, respectively for each side.
Shown on the prototype Hulkbuster above, LED lights will feature in its eyes, chest, palms, back, kneecaps, shin, calves, soles.
to expose Mark 43 inside.
The mechanical movement of the 1/4 scale Hulkbuster chest armor is activated by a remote controller. The team have come up with a modern design of a circular remote controller, and three functional buttons as shown above. We are happy to share an initial graphic design on the controller. The team have yet to confirm this and will explore more possible designs before finalizing.
Tentative remote control design.
